Holiday Travel Tips with a Little One

With the holidays just around the corner here are some tips to help your little ones while you are away from home!

Traveling with a children can be a daunting experience, especially when it comes to ensuring that your little one gets enough sleep during the journey. Here are 5 sleep tips to help you and your baby get some much-needed rest while on the go.

  1. Stick to a routine: Try to maintain your baby's regular sleep routine as much as possible. This will help them feel more comfortable and secure in unfamiliar surroundings.

  2. Pack familiar items: Bring along items that your baby associates with sleep, such as a pacifier (pack more than one!) favorite blanket or stuffed animal. This will help create a sense of familiarity and comfort in new environments.

  3. Choose the right accommodations: When booking your accommodations, opt for a room that can accommodate your baby's sleep needs. This may include a crib, a quiet location away from noise, or a space for you to set up a portable bassinet or pack ‘n play.

  4. Dress your baby appropriately: Ensure that your baby is dressed appropriately for the temperature and climate of your destination. This will help them stay comfortable and sleep better.

  5. Be flexible: While it's important to stick to a routine, it's also important to be flexible when traveling with children. Be prepared to adjust your plans and schedule to accommodate your child's sleep needs. Remember, a well-rested baby/toddler means a happier, more enjoyable trip for everyone!

Above all, lots of grace and patience for all involved. Once you are home jump right back into your routine. May take a few days to get back on track but it will happen!
