Doula Services

My wish is for you and your partner to be informed, educated, and supported so that you can have the best birth and easiest postpartum transition possible for your family.

Doula is a Greek word meaning a woman's servant.  Doulas "mother the mother".  My goal is to educate and support you both emotionally and physically during pregnancy, birthing, and postpartum.

Why Choose a Doula?

Numerous clinical studies have found that a doula's presence at birth:

tends to result in shorter labors with fewer complications, reducing the length of labor by 25%

reduces negative feelings about one’s childbirth experience

reduces the need for pitocin by 40%

reduces the mother’s request for pain medication

reduces requests for an epidural by 60%

decreases the overall cesarean rate by 50%

All services start with a complimentary meeting where we meet and discuss what services you are looking for and get to know one another.

Birth Doula Support:

I offer unwavering support to you and your family before, during and after birth. I will stay in close contact in order to routinely check how you’re doing and step in with anything you might need

Use of aromatherapy if desired

Photographs during labor and birth

Education on breastfeeding, newborn care, baby wearing and cloth diapers

I have experience with vbacs and couples who have struggled with infertility

It is important for me to know exactly how I can assist you and your growing family.  Through our visits we will design a birth plan and postpartum plan specific to you and your needs.

I am happy to provide you with evidence based education and information on a wide variety of topics.

I can help with fetal positioning and pre-natal exercises.

You are also welcome to my resource library.
